I Want You To Know Something
I want you to know of your beauty, the way I do,
from the root, the edge, the internal,
and the way the child sitting on the porch knows,
when she meets your gaze and smiles shyly,
like open waters, green pastures, and the wind that blows
in the middle of autumns forthcoming.
It would be as if you knew about the little parts of you,
bits and pieces of silk fabric tangled into one;
an organic sphere, an epiphany, a rare revelation
like a thousand sunflowers that burst open
amongst a golden field of standing soldiers,
yellow, that bend, and sway and stand on ceremony
for your passage through their rooted minds,
wet soil and deep mist.
It would be as if you knew about the smaller
parts of me, too, secretly thirsting, and sometimes,
for the greater pieces that lay naked for your moist eyes,
an intoxication, like dancing diamonds on the moon.
And invisibly, I would consume fractures of your being.
You know why, don’t you? In case there was a yearning
to search for your beauty, again, inside the pieces of my soul.
